Six Month Hearing Accessibility Study Begins January 2001, At DFW Airport!

During the month of December, 2000, Audex and AmericanAirlines®/ AmericanEagle® were busy installing assistive listening systems at every gate counter in DFW terminals A, B, C, and A2 remote, in an effort to collect information concerning ways to improve communication in busy airports. The purpose of this six month study is to determine which areas in the airport need improvement and what equipment will work most effectively and efficiently. Passengers are being asked to try the system currently installed and fill out a questionnaire expressing their views and experiences with respect to communicating in the airport.

AmericanAirlines®/ AmericanEagle® is concerned with airport noise and its effect on communication, and is participating in this study, which is the first of its kind in the United States, in an effort to offer its passengers the best possible environment for air travel.

This study is supported and funded in part by AmericanAirlines®/ AmericanEagle®, Audex® Assistive Listening Systems, and Clarion by Advanced Bionics®.

Statistical results of this study are available by sending an Email request to the email address listed below.
