Audex® Appoints New CEO
Richard Manley to focus on
Audex®'s positioning in
telecommunications and assistive listening marketplace
Longview, Texas, May 7, 2002 - Today
Audex®, Inc., a leading manufacturer of telecommunications and assistive listening devices, announced the recent appointment of their new CEO, Richard Manley. His chief role will emphasize the strategic market positioning of
Audex® as the company expands its offerings and services.
Mr. Manley joined
Audex® in January 2002 to lead the commercialization of the company's new CHAAMP cell phone module. At
Audex®, Manley will be responsible for developing and strengthening partnerships, building public awareness of the needs of people with hearing loss, and working with various groups, boards, and organizations that lead the telecommunications arena. Manley will also focus on marketplace positioning, guiding
Audex® to a place of prominence, and attracting attention to its new products and services.

Richard Manley brings to
Audex® extensive experience in building public and private companies. Earlier in his career, Mr. Manley purchased Cardiovascular Concepts and more than doubled its revenues from $10 million to over $20 million in just a few years. After leading two acquisitions and building the local company into a regional presence, Mr. Manley sold the majority of the company in 1998. In 2000, Mr. Manley became CEO of Emergisoft, established corporate strategy and product development plans, raised over $7 million, and successfully took the company public via reverse merger.
Mr. Manley also offers significant experience is sales. From 1985 to 1993, he served as Vice President of Sales at Ballard Medical. During his tenure there, Manley also held local, regional and national positions in sales and marketing. Ballard Medical grew to over $75 million during this period. Mr. Manley holds a B.A. from Vanderbilt University.
